2010 Ride Locations/Directions
*Ionia State Rec. Area: From south, east or west, take I-96 to Jordan Lake Rd. exit. Go north on Jordan Lake Rd., dead ends at the park entrance. From the north take M-66 south to Ionia. Continue south on M-66 to David Hwy (blinker light). Go west on David Hwy. to park entrance. Follow the road a mile or so to the Ranger station (across from the dump/fill station) to register for the Organization campground. ***DO NOT make a reservation for the Equestrian campground (unless you don’t want to camp with the group). The ranger will give you directions from there or turn around and follow the signs. Camping in the group campground is $12 per night, plus an $8 reservation fee (even though you are not making one). This does not include use of the showers, showers are $2 per shower.
Ortonville Recreation Area: Take I-69 to the Elba Road exit, exit #149. Go South on Elba Road to where it ends at Lippincott Road (about a half mile). Turn East (Left) on Lippincott. Take Lippincott just over a mile to the STOP sign at Hadley Road. Turn South (Right) on Hadley Road. (Hadley Road traffic does not stop, so use caution.) There will be a small left-right jog on Hadley Road and you will go through the town of Hadley. Take Hadley Road to Fox Lake Road. There is a Horse Campground sign at Fox Lake Road. Turn West (Right) on Fox Lake Road. The Equestrian Campground is on the North (Right) side of the road. There is a day use area entrance just before the campground entrance that should be used if you are just there for the day.
Silver Creek, Allegan:
From the north/Holland – Take I-196 to M40 or M40 from the south, to 134th
Ave, turn east. Go approx. 4 miles to 38th St turn right/south to
entrance. There is an entrance on the north side, but if you have a big rig
it can be tricky, so it is better to enter from the east entrance.
Camping fees at Silver Creek are as follows:
$12 per night per site; $3 per horse per night; $5 reservation fee.

Any unreserved sites are first come first serve.
Elba Equestrian Complex: The Elba Road exit #149 is about 16 miles east of I-75 on I-69. Go north on Elba Rd about 6.5 miles and the complex is located on the left (west) side of the road. Reservations are required call 1-800-648-7275 ext. 6 for reservations. Horses For Hope CMO is a benefit ride with a $15 donation (ride fee) for all participants.
Hungerford Lake: From Big Rapids take M-20 (exit #139 off US 131) west 5 miles to Norwich Town Hall. Go north on Cypress .5 miles to cemetery. Turn east on Hungerford Lake Rd. for .5 mile then turn north on Forest Rd 5134 for 1 mile to Trail Camp (on left). There are 48 large camp sites with fire pits, picnic tables and picket posts. Toilets and water can be far from camping site, so be prepared. Camping is $15 per night, $5 for day use (pay at the entrance). Campsites are first come first serve, so arrive early. Day riders must use the day staging area.
Happi Days Campground: Directions: Take I-75 N until you arrive at CR 612/ Frederic Exit 264 WEST , Go to stop sign (Old 27) TURN SOUTH, continue until you arrive at BATTERSON RD. TURN WEST. You will see Happi Days Campground and Diner 7486 W Batterson Rd, Frederic, Mi. on your right . Take 131 N until you arrive at intersection 131/—72. TURN EAST. Continue on —72 until you arrive at Grayling/I-75 Business Loop. TURN NORTH. From here you can get on I-75 N (follow directions above) or, continue on Old 27 N (may be called Grayling Hwy) until you arrive at BATTERSON RD. TURN WEST. Campground on your right. White River Rec. Area: Camping will be available for this event only at Kim Lord’s house. 4378 E Arthur Rd Hesperia, MI 49421. Coming from US 131 take M20 west towards White Cloud. Turn North on M37. Turn West on M20 will go through town of Hesperia. Turn South on 192nd. Turn west on Garfield. Turn south on 168th st (Pines Point Rec Area). Turn west on Arthur the house is approx 1 1/2 miles down. Coming from US 31 take M20 East. Turn south on 132nd. Turn East on Garfield. Turn South on 168th (Pines Point Rd). Turn West on Arthur. There are many ways to get to there so people just may want to map it on the Map Quest.
YMCA Camp Eberhart: YMCA Camp Eberhart: Take US 131 to M-60 (Three Rivers). Go west on M-60 approx. 8 miles to County Line/Corey Lake Road. Go north through the 4-way stop, down between the lakes ... as soon as you go up the hill past the lakes look on your right for the Camp Eberhart sign. It is a long winding drive way with pastures on the right, hayfield on the left. We will have signs up. Limited overnight camping at the camp, open field, no picket posts, donation $12 per night or $3 per horse for day riders. Some stalls may be available for $10 per night, call for availablity.
* Note: All State parks require a day pass of $6.00 if not in possession of an annual sticker. Camping at State Parks is $17.00 per night. For camping reservations call 1-800-44PARKS. All State Parks have fire pits, picket posts, pit toilets and water. Park in the Day Use Area if you are hauling in for the day only, if there is one available.
